The Issac Sterett Adventure Foundation was established on July 15, 2020. Issac Sterett was a very adventurous, nature-appreciative 10-year old boy. He had an ability to connect and learn from opportunities inspired from the outdoors. He was a Boy Scout, a camper, a sports enthusiast, and he loved being in water. Nature had a powerful impact on his life, and we want to honor his love of the outdoors by establishing a safe, green space for families to enjoy. Educational programming will also keep people of all ages stimulated to try new outdoor activities and continue to love the ones they already treasure.

Issac enjoyed hiking, biking, target shooting, archery, fishing, boating, and playing sports outside. These activities were some of his favorites on the farm, at the lake, and at camps. We hope to offer an opportunity where these and more will be experienced right here in our community, easily accessible off the Greenbelt. We feel that an ever-growing epidemic of technology and hours spent behind a screen are consuming too much of our valuable time. Many people are in search of a better balance away from technology to improve their mood and behaviors, sleep, and overall physical and mental health.

Issac’s time spent with his family outdoors was incredibly fulfilling. We treasure many trips to places that have now inspired us to look to the great outdoors for special moments in daily family life, and build upon the Foundation that will forever honor his memory. We will continue to celebrate his laughter and love as we share these spaces with you, and hope that you will bring your whole family to share time outside and unplugged!

Issac’s family includes 3 brothers, Will, Max, and Reid, and a chocolate lab named Spidey. His proud parents are Tres and Katie Sterett.
